Mission
ASD's dance program is open to girls in grades 2 - 12. Dancers of all levels and disciplines are welcome - no prior dance experience is necessary to attend!
Our top-notch instructors bring to ASD the coolest combinations from some of the best national and international dance studios, schools and performance groups. Classes are organized by aga and ability level, and instruction is carefully tailored to fit the ability level of each student - from beginners to experienced performers - with lots of hands-on help and individualized attention.
History
The first American School of Dance classes opened in Wilton, New Canaan and Ridgefield, Connecticut, in September 2002 with a vision of helping to make dance more accessible to more children in an engaging, motivating and non-competitive environment.
In 2003, ASD launched "American Dance Training Camp," a three-week summer overnight camp for its dancers at the Stratton Mountain School in Vermont. Three years later, American Dance Training Camp was operating additional camps in California, Colorado and North Carolina with more than 30 professional choreographers setting beginner through advanced-level dance pieces to the hottest summer music.
At ASD, our certified instructors give children everywhere access to awesome choreography by world-famous dancers they would never otherwise have the opportunity to learn from. As we continue to refine and optimize our program's success and excellence, we build relationships with more schools in more communities, more choreographers in more cities, and open new ASD programs in regions throughout the country.
The American School of Dance excitement continues to grow.
