AMERICAN SCHOOL OF DANCE - OUR MISSION
The American School of Dance (ASD) offers jazz, funk & hip-hop "fusion" dance classes to
K-12 children & teens
and
adults
in multiple locations throughout Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Our motto at ASD is "Dancing for the FUN of it!" A smile on every dancer's face - in every class - is our goal.
Unlike some more "serious" dance studios, we seek first to nurture a love of dance in each student, regardless of an individual's ability level. We don't just focus on the dance steps - we focus also on the person. We encourage each student to do her personal best and to be proud of herself and her accomplishments.
ASD accomplishes this goal through hiring only inspiring, professional instructors, teaching fresh and exciting choreography, focusing on positive reinforcement and offering it all in a relaxed, non-competitive environment.
We find that our unique approach to dance instruction not only helps students to improve body awareness and build muscle tone, but also to strengthen self-confidence and develop and appreciate their expressive potential - all while learning the best in traditional jazz and hip-hop dance technique AND having a great time!
We believe that individuals who develop the strength, balance and flexibility characteristic of dancers will have acquired the same skills essential for a healthy and happy life. We look forward to sharing our love of dance with you. Please join us!
