FACILITIES & ACCOMMODATIONS
The Stratton Mountain School (
) is a beautiful, fully accredited boarding academy and campus located at the base of Stratton Mountain in the heart of the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont. Completed in 1999, Stratton Mountain School's state-of-the-art campus is within easy walking distance of Stratton Mountain Resort. SMS is accredited with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is also a certified member of the National Association of Endependent Schools
(NAIS).
The residential building can comfortably house up to
70 dancers per week (2-3 girls per room). The facility includes a 150-seat dining hall, dormitory-style bathrooms with laundry facilities on each floor, recreation rooms on each floor (some with foosball, ping pong, televisions, and/or pool tables), and a 35-seat movie theater. The SMS gymnasium includes tennis courts, a rock-climbing wall, a weight room and trampolines.
ADTC is also excited to announce that SMS now has its first on-campus gymnasium. The new 16,000 square foot Gymnasium is an addition to the existing Burtscher Field House and consists of two floors. The first floor contains large areas for weight lifting and stretching, as well as a training room, polar and thermal plunge pools, and separate locker rooms for students and faculty. Additionally, the gymnasium contains a performance stage that provides a beautiful new venue for ADTC's Friday Night performance.
Dance classes are held in the gymnasium, weight room, and cafeteria. We set up wall-sized portable mirrors in each dance room. Each room has ample space to accommodate up to 20 dancers per class (though ADTC class sizes are usually much smaller).
Families who don't want to be too far from their dancers are encouraged to stay at Stratton while their daughter attends ADTC. You can rent a condo or a hotel room in the nearby Stratton Village by contacting Stratton directly (1-800-STRATTON). More information about Stratton Mountain vacations is available at
