SHOW DATES:
Spring Show Weekend will be May 13-14, 2006 at Middlebrook School Auditorium in Wilton. This is Mother’s Day weekend. It was impossible to avoid. Please mark your calendars now!
SHOW FORMAT & ASSIGNMENTS:
There will be two performances over the show weekend: Saturday night (5/13) and Sunday afternoon (5/14). Each class will be assigned as a group to ONE of the two performances, meaning dancers will perform in one of the two shows. Some dancers may be asked to perform in both shows (based on space availability), but this should not be expected. ASDCO members are expected to perform their company dances in BOTH shows, but may only be able to perform their regular class dances in their assigned class show.
Show assignments, along with a detailed rehearsal schedule for each performance, will be handed out in class after the New Year. Individual dancers also may request to switch shows if they have a conflict with their assigned show, but reassignment is based on stage space and cannot be guaranteed. Should an individual dancer have a conflict with their assigned show and we are unable to reassign them to the other show, they may receive a full costume refund (see refunds, below). Remember, performing is optional, but highly recommended!
SHOW REHEARSALS:
There will be one dress rehearsal for each performance. The Saturday 5/13 performance dress rehearsal takes place Thursday afternoon, May 11. The Sunday 5/14 performance dress rehearsal takes place Friday afternoon, May 12. All dress rehearsals take place at the performance venue. As of now, we do not anticipate needing any other additional rehearsals, but this may change. The full rehearsal schedule will be part of the show assignment handout in January.
COSTUME FEES:
All performers will need to purchase their Spring Show costumes. The cost is $40 per costume, meaning $80 total for Youth, Junior and Senior class dancers (2nd-12th graders), and $40 total for Child class dancers (K-1st graders). ASDCO Company members will need to pay an additional $80 for their costumes, on top of their regular class costume fee of $80, so $160 total. Also, any dancer taking more than one regular weekly class will need to pay an additional $80 for their second class costumes, if intending to also perform with that class in the show.
Costume fees and a completed Costume Order Form are due by Thurs. Dec. 22.

. Dancers who miss this deadline will need to pay a late fee of $10 and a rush order fee of $10 ($20 extra in total) when ordering. Any order received after January 31 may not be able to be fulfilled in time for the dancer to participate in the Spring Show.
COSTUME DISTRIBUTION:
We anticipate receiving and distributing all costumes in early April. This will allow time for each dancer to have her costume altered to fit, if necessary. It will be each dancer’s responsibility to take care of her costumes until the show! Dancers who lose parts to a costume cannot participate in that dance in the show.
SHOW PARTICIPATION FEE:
Each performer also will need to submit a Show Participation Fee. The fee is $50 for Youth, Junior and Senior class dancers and $35 for our Child class dancers. Included in this fee is a free, limited edition 2006 Spring Show t-shirt for each participant (a $20 value). We will not be selling 2006 Spring Show t-shirts this year – only our performers will get one! This fee will be due by Feb. 1, 2006. Dancers who miss this deadline will not get a t-shirt (and fee will be same amount).
FUNDRAISING OPTION:
To help our dancers cover their Spring Show costs, we offered an optional fundraiser: a gourmet lollipop sale. Dancers are able to raise half or all of their Spring Show costs (costume AND participation fees) through the sale. Though the fundraiser technically has concluded, it may still be possible to participate. For more information, please call Bri at 604-8480, ext. 80.
REQUIRED SHOW ATTIRE:
Black jazz shoes or jazz sneakers (either one) are required for ALL Spring Show performers – no exceptions! A nude-colored leotard or bra - with clear straps - is also required (if the performer wishes to wear something under her costumes & while changing). Black, white or pink leotards/bras are NOT allowed, nor are any visible straps other than clear plastic straps.
TICKETS:
$10/adults, $8 ages 3-18. More info about purchasing tickets will be in the Jan. handout.
REFUNDS:
Costume fees are not refundable after the Dec. 22 deadline. The only exception to this is if a dancer’s class is assigned to a show with which she has a pre-existing conflict, and we cannot reassign her due to lack of stage space in the other show. Conflicts must be communicated in writing within 2 weeks of assignment to qualify for a costume refund. The Show Participation Fee is not refundable after the Feb. 1 deadline.
